There have been a few reports from the web saying that during an ordinary web search using keywords that return images, there has been a few *naughty* images placed. To help combat this Google has added a “Report Images” link directly on the search engine result pages. By following a few clicks, you can safely report that naughty image.

Kudos to you Google for integrating that feature.

Yahoo has upgraded their search platform to now incorporate search assist.

Here is a quote from their blog about the new upgrades:

we want to get you from “to do” to “done.” Whatever it is you want to do: research a topic, find a website, plan a vacation, research a medical condition, view a funny video, or any of the other billions of queries we get from users — their intents expressed via a few keywords in a search box.

I think this is a great step for Yahoo! to make in regards of displaying SERP and generally helping a user focus in on what they are truely looking for. So if you have some free time, go on over to Yahoo! and check out their new search assist feature. I think you will like it, I know I did.

We’ve rolled out some changes to our index with fresh web data and updates to our crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms over the last few days. We expect the update will be completed very soon.
